Royal Purple
Royal Purple Synfilm® is a high-performance synthetic blend lubricant formulated to provide long service life, superior film strength, and energy-efficient operation.
It is recommended for air compressors, pumps, steam turbines, bearings, gears, air tools, and other industrial equipment requiring high-performance lubricating oil. Synfilm typically replaces conventional, low-film-strength rust-and-oxidation-inhibited oils that rely primarily on viscosity for wear protection.
Synfilm combines premium base oils with Royal Purple’s proprietary Synerlec® additive technology. Synerlec forms a tough, slippery ionic film on metal surfaces, increasing oil-film thickness beyond what viscosity alone can provide.
The reinforced oil film reduces the risk of metal-to-metal contact under severe operating conditions. It provides additional protection for bearings exposed to misalignment, shaft flex, high temperatures, imbalance, heavy loads, and water contamination.
Synfilm helps equipment operate smoother, cooler, quieter, longer, and more efficiently. It provides greater reliability and equipment uptime while reducing maintenance requirements and total cost of ownership.

PROPRIETARY SYNERLEC® TECHNOLOGY
Synerlec® forms a strong, slippery film that bonds ionically to metal surfaces, increasing oil-film thickness and reducing metal-to-metal contact.
The reinforced film allows Synfilm to carry higher loads than conventional mineral and synthetic oils. It provides additional protection under severe operating conditions involving misalignment, shaft flex, high temperatures, imbalance, and water contamination.
Synerlec can also help smooth metal surfaces previously affected by wear by gently micro-mending surface irregularities.
SEAL COMPATIBILITY
Compatible with common oil-seal materials, including:
• Fluoroelastomers
• Neoprene
• Buna-N, except high-ACN types
• Silicone
Synfilm is not recommended for use with EPDM or EPR elastomers.
